Like a few other guards on this team, the number of talented players they had forced Daniel to show things other than just his ability to make things happen with the ball in his hands. Godsun is an excellent perimeter shooter both off the dribble and off the catch, but he also shined in attack mode from the wings and corners. Defensively, he stood out with on-ball defense, displaying quick hands, and excellent instincts.

Godsun is another one of the top guards in SCISA. John Paul II was short-handed on day one, but Daniel was still able to piece together a solid performance despite a loss to Laurence Manning. You never have to question what he will bring defensively, because he fights to contain the ball on the perimeter and is an excellent charge drawer. Offensively, he had to take and make tough shots often, plus he showed a good feel for drawing contact and getting to the free-throw line. Godsun finished with 16 points, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals in the game.

Godsun has terrific defensive instincts to jump passing lanes, force chaos for ball-handlers, and draw charges. He also plays under control on the offensive end, frequently touching the paint to score or find a teammate. Daniel and company are off to a strong start in the grassroots season, so look for them to turn some heads if they continue this success.

Godsun plays down in the Lowcountry near the South Carolina-Georgia border off Interstate-95. Daniel plays at a SCISA school located in Ridgeland down in Jasper County.

Godsun plays his best basketball on ball and directing traffic. Daniel likes to use the old school bounce pass in finding teammates on the floor. Godsun will look to change directions and race by defenders at times. He really does a nice job of playing at an even keel and not pushing the envelope too much.
