Skime was a game-changer because he plays defense with pure effort and energy. The score did not matter, he brought it on every possession. Dane comes to compete and is one of those players that every coach wants on their team.

Dane was faced off against a few scrappy defenders, and I thought he did a nice job of consistently handling the ball under pressure. Was often able to get by his man trying to press him the length of the floor, and then give his team a numbers advantage offensively. There were times he overdribbled a bit, but showed some shot creating ability both on the perimeter and getting to the rim. Quick guard with an explosive burst to beat his defender and make plays in the lane.

I love the defensive intensity Skime brings for his team. He is a two-way player who does a really nice job of turning defense into offense through the use of active hands and feet and extreme on-ball pressure that often extends into the backcourt. Skime moves really well and plays at a good speed. This helps him maneuver around the defense when he is attacking the rim. Skime also makes great decisions as a playmaker.

Dane’s offensive firepower was key in MN Lightning ‘s Saturday morning comeback victory. The 6-foot guard has a super smooth left-handed jump shot and used that to convert on some tough looks throughout the game. He was not afraid at all to attack the basket and finish through the traffic of larger defenders either. He also hit a pretty turnaround fadeaway jumper in the mid-range that looked nearly impossible to defend. He was extremely effective in shooting off the catch too, being able to get himself under control even if he’s still moving before getting his shot off.
