One of the top scoring guards in New England, Quinn showed flashes of what makes him such a highly regarded prospect in today’s game. He’s a good athlete that has a solid frame, both of which allow him to absorb contact and still finish plays in the paint. Exeter spent the majority of the game throwing different defenders at him, but he was still able to get to his spots as a scorer. He has a clean jumper that he gets into quickly, allowing him to get his shot off at any time. Defensively, he does a great job of rebounding in traffic, guarding at the point of attack, and using his quickness to create steals.

Quinn always manages to put up a solid game no matter what the defensive scheme is against him. Today, Worcester packed the paint and made it difficult for him to drive, so he just decided to light it up from three and pick his spots in transition. He never gets frustrated with the way the defense is playing him, the refs, or anything that isn’t going his way, he simply works through it and figures it out; he’ll often take the first 10 minutes of a game to note how he’s being guarded and figure out the best way to attack. Love Quinn’s game so much. Unselfish but knows when to take over.

It just feels like Quinn is playing at a different level than everybody else on the floor. He’s so much stronger than everyone and is completely unfazed when driving to the rim and getting hand checked or met in the air. He also strokes it from three and has confidence once he steps in the gym. Defensively, Quinn completely shut down Chess, a key player for St. George’s; he showcased a solid ability to slide his feet and absolutely stymied one of the stronger players in New England with his toughness. He’s just a phenomenal athlete who will continue to turn heads at the D1 level next year. Future Pat Connaughton?

Quinn might be the strongest pound-for-pound player in the New England area. He’s only 6-foot-4, but he bullies anyone his size or smaller, and even some larger players, in the post and on drives to the rim. I was most impressed with his ability to let the game come to him; rather than forcing shots, he made great kick-out passes to teammates when the defense converged on him in the lane and was content to take over later in the game, which he did. He strokes it from three and can get to the rim with ease. The East Carolina commit should have a wonderful college career at the D1 level.

Quinn put an end to evolving recruitment when he commited to East Carolina University. A physical and athletic scoring guard, Quinn did nothing but improve his game and, subsequently, his recruiting stock over the last two years. Long known for his power and above the rim athleticism, he’s done a great job of developing his skill over the last year. He’s now consistently knocking down shots from the perimeter and attacking the rim off the bounce with creativity. On top of that, he’s both a willing ball mover and good cutter. Defensively, he’s capable of guarding each perimeter position while also supplying a good amount of rebounding from the guard position. ECU made their way into New England and landed one of the most well-rounded and competitive guards on the east coast in Quinn, who could carve out an early role in the AAC as a guard that just does what it takes to win.

Quinn was one of the region’s top stock risers this spring and summer, taking his game to another level with the Middlesex Magic. An explosive power guard, Quinn’s seemed to finally put all the pieces together as his combination of athleticism, IQ, and skill allowed him to shine on the biggest stages. He’s a big time scorer that can get it done at all three levels, has a great first step off the bounce, and has turned himself into a consistent perimeter shooter. He’s capable of supplying secondary ball-handling, but does his best off the ball when he’s attacking the rim. He’s a terrific rebounder for his position, is a switchable defender, and just does what it takes to win. He gained as much scholarship attention as any prospect in New England this summer, and subsequently, appears to be a priority recruit for mid-major programs up and down the east coast.

Quinn is a freak athlete with ridiculously impressive body control once he gets downhill to the rim. He’s also one of the best shooters I’ve seen at the showcase, with a quick release and very deep range. Quinn can blow by defenders with the dribble or back them down with his strength and shoot fadeaway jumpers. Also a dog on the defensive end and always the first to the floor.
