Last season, Hislop made the jump from homeschool ball to Victory Christian and was a key part of their 3A quarterfinals run. Now, he’s asked to be the man in a rugged Class 4A. He’s responded by being the go to man for VCS. He has has one of the best step back jumpers in Oklahoma and hitting game winners as well. He has a tight handle which is good for creating space, but with his quick trigger release he doesn’t need much space to pull from deep with efficiency. A couple tough losses to two tough eastern Oklahoma squads could make the path tougher for Victory. But odds are, Hislop will rise to the occasion with explosive scoring games next month.

The junior had a strong game, especially with how he adjusted and rose to the occasion in the second half. There was a stretch in the second quarter where the quickness and pressure of Idabel was bothering Hislop. Leading to two turnovers in quick succession. After the break, the junior was much more composed even providing big bucks down the stretch in the fourth to give VCS an edge. It was started when he shook away from the intense defense to drill a tough pull up. Next possession, he pushed, found a gap in the defense and took it to the hole for a tough “And 1” finish. Hislop would finish with a big 12 points in the win.

A long range bomber, Hislop is making the transition from homeschool ball to becoming a key piece of Class 3A contender Victory Christian. He’s another shooter on this list who appears to be a natural when shooting off the dribble. Hislop is comfortable pulling a few steps beyond the article, which is a vital trait for smaller guards. Moving to Victory, should also benefit Hislop as he could thrive off the gravity his talented teammates create, and improves as a knock down catch and shoot specialist.
