Colin is a gritty wing who plays much bigger than his size. He was one of the best rebounders under 6′ I saw all weekend, as he’s constantly crashing the glass on both ends, and is quick off the floor to pull down rebounds in a crowd. On the offensive end that scrappiness on the glass resulted in a couple of second-chance buckets for Colin to keep his team in the game. Part of a really promising 2030 class at Racine Case.

High motor combo guard out of Wisconsin that had an impactful presence throughout the camp. Defensively challenged around the rim from the guard spot with athleticism and anticipation. On the offensive side, Wirtz continued to attack the rim hard and finish on multiple conversions on breakaway lay ins. He has solid feel in traffic and can shoot it from mid range and 3 land with a mechanically sound jumper. A versatile 2 way prospect with continued upside.

Wirtz plays with the confidence of a player who knows how to get to his spot on the floor. His combination of speed and handles allows him to attack downhill and there were stretches where he used this skill to take over in the final 10 minutes of the game. He displayed a smooth jump shot and perimeter shooting, though there’s room to grow in his consistency on the outside shot. Wirtz will be an exciting player to watch develop in the coming years.

There is a lot to like about Wirtz, an incoming freshman for Racine Case, and looks like he could make an immediate impact this season for a team that went 22-6 but graduated 3 of their top 4 scorers. Strong in the post, Wirtz has good footwork, a soft touch, and an ability to finish through contact. Defensively he move his feet well, understands off-ball positioning, and how to use his length to disrupt passing lanes.

One of the better “bigs” that I watched, Wirtz looks like he could make an immediate impact this fall. Displaying a strong post game, Wirtz finished well, through contact, while showing off good footwork and a soft touch. Defensively is where he really stood out moving his feet well and used his size to disrupt the passing lanes all weekend.
