This high academic lead guard has a high basketball IQ and can be both a scoring option and a distributor. Stemberger has good vision and can find open teammates. He is able to create scoring opportunities for himself off the dribble and score at the rim and in the midrange. He is a solid open shot maker and plays with some toughness as evidenced by his willingness to guard and rebound from the perimeter.

Colin Stemberger Colin Stemberger 5'10" | PG Westfield | 2026 State VA is going to be massively important to what Westfield does in the postseason. He handles the ball a lot, and he acts as the ultimate glue guy for this talented roster. I felt like Colin over-dribbled a lot last year, and that was something he cleaned up today. He looked more comfortable shooting the three-ball as well. I loved his defensive intensity, and he did a lot of great work as a POA defender. He was outstanding on the glass and put in an all-around shift.

-Throwback point guard that plays with really good feel at both ends of the floor. Willing passer who sees the floor well and passes teammates open. Plays really hard, willing to mix it up with bigs in the paint for rebounds and makes them regret putting the ball on the floor in front of him after grabbing a rebound. Understands what kind of shot his team needs on each possession and patiently probes the defense waiting for someone to make a mistake. Found opportunities to race it 94 feet and weave through traffic to beat his matchup to the rim. Doing a great job of getting two feet in the paint and finding an open teammate with 1-handed dimes with either hand. 

Colin Stemberger Colin Stemberger 5'10" | PG Westfield | 2026 State VA does a lot of the ball handling for this talented Westfield team. Colin is a high-IQ lead guard who does a great job getting others involved. He has a good handle and is a crafty finisher. He has a nice floater and can knock down open threes. I like the grittiness he plays with, and he is someone you trust to lead your offense as an extension of the coach. Colin had 10 points in another Westfield blowout win. 

-Tough, quick, aggressive point guard that really affects the game at both ends of the floor. Stemberger plays an old school brand of basketball, getting to his spots to run the offense efficiently without turning the ball over. Stemberger chooses his spots well and knows when to be assertive in attacking the outside shoulder and get to the rim.

Colin Stemberger Colin Stemberger 5'10" | PG Westfield | 2026 State VA played a huge part in Westfield being one of the best teams in NOVA this season. On a team loaded with talent, Colin handled the ball the majority of the time, and he will likely be the lead ball handler on this NOVA Cavs team as well. Colin is a great passer and ball-handler. He is quick and smart, and although he’s usually the smallest guy on the court, he always makes a big impact.

Colin Stemberger Colin Stemberger 5'10" | PG Westfield | 2026 State VA had a few shaky moments in this game, but overall, he showed his importance. He had a few 5-second violations in a row dribbling around, which was both attributed to a problem he has of dribbling the ball too much and also a lack of movement by the rest of Westfield’s players. Nonetheless, Colin knows how to control a game. He has a great handle and is a great passer. Colin was great at the end of this game, dribbling the clock out and not letting himself be trapped. Colin knocked down a three and did a great job driving the ball and getting to the line. He had the ball more than anyone in this game on either team, and that is a testament to the trust his teammates and coaches have on a very talented squad.

With the talent Westfield has at guard, it’s telling that Colin Stemberger Colin Stemberger 5'10" | PG Westfield | 2026 State VA handles the ball as much as he does. Colin does a great job setting up the other scoring guards Westfield has. Colin is a great passer and does a great job getting to the rim. Colin can hit threes, and he is a high IQ player. He’s a tough player, and he is a pivotal piece for Westfield.
