Coming into this game you knew that McClure was going to be ready to play. He was aggressive and confident in this one. He did a good job of attacking his shots and looks coming off screens. He hit a ton of threes to keep Coffman in the game. He was the highest scorer. He was good when he attacked the pressure of Reynoldsburg. McClure did a good job of turning up his offensive scoring in the 2nd half. He was not stopped too much from getting what he wanted tonight.

McClure was cooking on Saturday getting to his spots and rising up for tough contested shots off the dribble and shooting an extremely high percentage on these looks. At the rim, McClure had a couple tough finishes including an early and-1 layup and a lefty finish past a shot contest. To end the third quarter, McClure had his second and-1 of the game and while Pickerington North made him work for every bucket, it didn’t matter as McClure was in the zone. In crunch time McClure turned to the setup man with the assist to tie the game with under a minute to play in regulation and a pair of assists in overtime to help his team pull away. Brillant performance from McClure on the big stage.

McClure is a rugged guard who thrives as a paint toucher. He isn’t the quickest but manages to constantly. He was able to hit shots from behind the arc. McClure also made a few unselfish plays getting his teammates involved. He plays a super competitive style of play and even if he isn’t making shots his play is still noticeable.

In the semifinals, McClure was a big reason why his team squeaked out a two point victory in the end. A tough guard to contain off the dribble, McClure was getting to his spots and putting a lot of rim pressure. Also a knockdown shooter, McClure hit some tough contested 3-pointers throughout the day. Defensively, I continued to be encouraged by his activity with a couple forced turnovers off full court pressure.

We’ve wrote about and covered McClure extensively that all readers of our website should be familiar with his game. A prospect who put up huge scoring numbers in the OCC last year, McClure can flat out get a bucket at a high level. Due to his production during both the high school and grassroots season where he helped Midwest Pumas Gold qualify for 3SSB Finals play in Rock Hill, I would imagine Division II programs will get into the picture with McClure.

This was the first week McClure was at Fall League and he didn’t disappoint. I was most impressed with McClure’s defensive ability, sitting down and really guarding the basketball. A guard who wants to get to the rim off the dribble, McClure’s shiftiness was tough to defend. McClure also had a game winning free throw with just a few seconds left in the final game of the morning.

One of the top scorers in central Ohio, McClure caught fire early for Midwest Pumas as they played a back and forth game with KLow Elite. I was impressed with the contested shot making of McClure who isn’t bothered by a contest when he’s rising up. The guard play of McClure and

is a big reason why their team qualified for 3SSB finals from the gold division. Expect regional scholarship programs to recruit McClure as his ability to put the ball in the hoop will be highly sought after. If McClure can start to impact the game in even more ways, he’ll add to his interest list quickly.

One of the most skilled guards in central Ohio, McClure has a ton of talent with the ball in his hands. Shifty and able to create his own shot, McClure was a perfect fit on a Dublin Coffman team that let him rock with shooters surrounding him. McClure’s ability to get a bucket will give him value at the college level and despite his lack of his, his high skill level will make up for it. I expect McClure to get interest from a variety of levels this summer playing with Midwest Basketball Club Gold and Dublin Coffman in June.

Having a huge year as a scorer, McClure is one of the most skilled guards in central Ohio. Really able to create his own shot and use his handle to create separation from the defender, McClure is also a rhythm shot maker off the bounce. Definitely more of a combo guard than a natural point guard, I’ll be curious to see McClure on the grassroots level when he’s surrounded by more talented teammates. With his diverse offensive game, McClure will be getting scholarship looks this spring and summer when Division II and NAIA programs start to prioritize the 2025 class.

One of the most skilled guards in Columbus, McClure is the definition of a bucket. Able to create his own shot off the bounce and use crossovers to create space. A tough shot maker from the mid-range as well, McClure gets to his spots and can score efficiently. Leading his team to a win to open the day, I was impressed with McClure’s scoring ability. For him to take that next step as a prospect, finding ways to impact the game without scoring could elevate his game to the next level.
