Alston’s ability to change direction at a high level added to his offensive prowess, enabling him to finish the game with an impressive 20 points. His multi-dimensional skill set contributes significantly to his team’s success.

The best way to describe this young man is to simply call him a strong Guard. He possesses outstanding upper body strength, and really gets after it on the defensive side of the ball.

Alston continues to show his development at the point guard role with his ability to defend full court and make things happen off the bounce. He’s shown tremendous confidence on the perimeter over the past few months as a perimeter threat. Those skills, coupled with his ability to defend both guard roles should earn him some attention at NC Good Better Best Academy in 2023-24 since decommitting from Mount Olive. He’s drawn DII interest and has a visit setup to Winston-Salem State on Oct. 13.

Alston is an underrated floor general in the state at NC Good Better Best Academy to keep an eye on. He’s a two-way floor general presence learning to set a tone with his ability to shoot the ball and defend. He recently decommitted from Mount Olive University after a head coaching change on their staff. Randolph Macon, Winston Salem State and University of Wisconsin Superior have started to show interest.

Alston had a big game for Team Trezz Edwards today in their dominant win over Durham Hurricanes , and he was just one of many guards that they have to put out on the floor. He showcased his skillset as a complete floor general but really had his scoring ability on display today. He’s a lefty who attacks open space and really gets going when defenders are a step slow to him. He finishes at the rim with some slitheriness and can make mid-range jumpers when needed. He’s got great burst and explosiveness, just what I like out of a scoring combo guard or point guard. His combination of attacking the rim and being able to hit his teammates when defenses collapse should continue to make him a name for coaches to get an eye on.
