Achufusi put together a strong spring with Team AKT , showcasing the offensive skill set that makes him one of the more intriguing wing prospects in the class. A left handed sharpshooter, he is a three level scorer who can impact the game from anywhere on the floor. Achufusi shoots the ball exceptionally well from beyond the arc, displaying a smooth stroke and deep range, while also having the ability to score in the midrange and finish around the basket. He possesses a strong feel for the game, understands how to move without the ball, and consistently makes smart decisions offensively. More than just a spot up shooter, he can create offense with a few dribbles, attack closeouts, and make plays when defenses overcommit.

-One of the better two-way performances that I’ve seen this season and from Achufusi. He was aggressive and active defensively both in the halfcourt and in transition blocking shots both on and off the ball (6 total). His handle has improved and he’s finding opportunities to probe the defense when attacking long closeouts. Rebounds very well for his size because he has a nose for the ball and isn’t afraid to mix it up with bigs in the paint. His best play came on a defensive rebound that he took coast to coast, skipped through traffic in the lane to finish with the inside hand reverse.

Achufusi impressed with his ability to find the bucket effortlessly. He is a threat from the perimeter cashing in on attempts throughout the game. Achufusi is patient getting to different spots off the bounce. He is able to use his broad frame to bully his way to spots. The southpaw has a smooth green light release that looks like it can go in anytime he touches the rock. Locking forward to tracking his progress over several seasons.

Chuma was quite effective with his touches in this overtime win against St Mary’s Ryken. He started off the game draining a couple of threes and firing often when given space. Chuma was pretty efficient out on the break, always tried to get ahead into scoring position. Finished a few layups and had a nice euro-move to evade the defense on one drive. It was clear the Achufusi knew how to score the ball and has the confidence to be a consistent scoring option for Episcopal. Sat for a bit due to foul trouble and lineup changes, but immediately entered the game late in the 4th quarter. Made a quick move by the defender and finished at the rim through contact.
