Expert Analysis
Mark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the better players in Wisconsin many do not know, Koch can positively affect a game with his length, athleticism, skill and desire to get things done. A projected wing player for college, Koch can pretty much excel at any position at the high school level, He is the cornerstone piece for an Oconto program looking to improve upon an 18-10 record. Third-year coach Antowan Epps will rely on Koch’s scoring (22.9 ppg as a junior) and rebounding (7.7 rpg a year ago), but he’ll also look to the 6-foot-5 forward to provide leadership for a team that could push Southern Door for the title in the Packerland.

The versatility, size, athleticism and skill of Koch are all impressive assets for the 6-foot-5 wing from Oconto. He is almost always productive on the floor. His scoring (22.9 ppg), rebounding (7.7 rpg), passing (3.3 apg), leadership and defense (1.7 spg) helped Oconto to an 18-10 record under coach Antwan Epps a year ago. Koch had a strong spring/summer on the circuit and is one of the prime recruiting targets for NCAA Division II and III schools in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The returning first-team all-Packerland Conference performer begins his senior season with 1,277 points and went for a career-best 45 points in a victory over Sevastopol last season.

Carter had a solid weekend and took over in the second half of a win over Northstar Titans on Sunday. He is very strong and every move he made looked calculated and under control. He could weave his way to the basket, being able to play at his own pace when dissecting the defense with his dribble. Koch could also go up and finish through traffic, being able to use either hand. The 2025 guard is a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc as well.

-Hailey on Saturday. He’s an explosive two footed leaper, and used that bounce to finish above the rim when he had a clear lane to the basket. Combines his 6’5 frame with some strength making him tough to contain around the basket. Does a nice job of playing off of two feet so he can go up balanced and finish with efficiency around the rim. Defensively he walls up to protect the basket, can defend on the wing or in the paint, and is a strong rebounder with his physical tools.
