Mark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
Rader is hoping to remain healthy for an entire high school season after undergoing successful foot surgery. He was able to return to the Notre Dame lineup for 20 games last season and put up some good numbers, including a breakout 27-point performance in a 93-83 loss to eventual WIAA Division 1 state champion Marquette. Rader, who has a soft shooting touch out to 15 feet, averaged 12.2 points and 7.6 rebounds for the Tritons. He then played on the EYBL circuit, coming off the bench for Team Herro and providing the squad with solid play in the post. He picked up several NCAA DII scholarship offers over the spring and summer before recently committing to Minnesota-Duluth.

This was my first time seeing Andrew since he was a sophomore, and he impressed going up against a 6’9 defender. He was demanding the ball on the block, and battling for deep post position, giving him an advantage when the entry pass came his way. Andrew has some solid strength at 6’10, and with that he was able to catch and simply power his way up to finish. Showed some quickness off the floor with a dunk, and was moving well in the open floor at his size. After missing a chunk of time with an injury, I’m looking forward to seeing Andrew during his senior season as he has all the tools to make for an intriguing prospect.
