Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Walls has done a great job as a balanced guard who looks to get others involved. And while he is a past first guard, he can go get a bucket too, and does a great job playing situational ball. Has a controlled handle, can change speeds, plays balanced, and can finish strong around the rim. Has just done a great job setting the table and prodding for good shots as their primary playmaker.

Walls has done a nice job controlling tempo, keeping separation from defenders with change of speeds down the court and along the perimeter, and some well-timed bumps inside to create space around the paint. He’s a guy who has shown he can get penetration pretty regularly and has the finishing and passing ability to be a high-impact playmaker off his paint touches. Central Valley has racked up some big wins early in the year, and Walls has been a big factor so far.

The Central Valley sophomore has been quite impressive to start the year, spearheading their attack and playing a high-usage role for the Bears. He’s the point man and not only is he in charge of creating a lot of their action with his ability to get penetration, but he’s also their best scorer. It starts with his ability to handle the rock at a high level. He’s great at creating separation, can blow by, step back, or side-step defenders, and he’s been pretty effective knocking in some perimeter shots to balance out his slashes inside.

Walls was one of the top standouts from their Central Valley Jamboree. He played under control but brought pace and some high-IQ decision-making to the court. He got great penetration, rejecting screens, mixing up speeds, and using quick bursts out of crossovers. He knocked down several jumpers after easily creating space off the bounce and was a patient playmaker on the late break.
