Hopkins is a player that we got to see at Mile High Madness, and he had such a solid performance that I put him on the radar as a player to watch moving forward. He’s a multidimensional prospect that impacts the game on both ends, but it starts with the scoring. He gets to his spot, uses his 6’4 frame, and can score in bunches, and let’s be honest, Douglas County could use ALL of those things with how they played a year ago. He should be one of the players who turn heads this year, and he jumps into the rankings this go-round. I have high hopes for Hopkins as I believe he’s a skilled wing who could turn some heads this year. 

Hopkins really popped all weekend as a player who I’m VERY curious about. He dominated in a few games and is a player who I feel could make some noise on varsity this upcoming season. He’s very skilled offensively and has a knack for making plays. He seems to understand where to be on the floor as he drifted into open space, filled lanes in transition, and slipped behind the defense for easy baskets. Collective rotates the ball and feeds the open man, and he was on the other end of that often. He got into the paint, flashed to the high post, and scored and showed soft touch around the rim.  I thought his game against 7070 Select was especially encouraging because he impacted it in so many different ways. He’s a player who plays off of instincts, uses his size, and was very consistent. We have to see him soon, hopefully at the showcase, but if not, then soon after that as we believe there’s some special brewing at Douglas County.
