Shilling recently broke the East Canton school record for points in a game with 45. Showing a ton of upside as a senior with his scoring, rebounding and blocks numbers, Shilling was a prospect who came on our radar at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo and we were fans immediately. Getting love from a few OAC programs, Shilling would be a mismatch at that level, as few teams in that league have 6’9 centers to match him in the paint. East Canton is a potential bracket buster in Division IV this year with Shilling leading the way.

My favorite part of the Top 250 Expo is finding new names and Shilling was a prospect who made some noise as a Junior and got the opportunity to shine in front of our scouts this fall. He made the most with this opportunity showing his upside with his size, length and interior abilities to score and rebound. With 27 points and 11 rebounds in their last game against Buckeye Trail yesterday, Shilling is turning his talent into production and should be on recruiting radars at a variety of levels.

Shilling was one of the prospects I was most excited to watch at the Expo. With great size at 6’9 and solid fluidity for his height. What I was most impressed was the touch Shilling showed off his hand. Capable of stretching the floor with a jumper and with a nice post spin finish on an and-1, Shilling has some nice scoring potential. The weight room will be a focus as right now Shilling is a bit overpowered by stronger forwards, this prevented him from getting some looks around the rim that I think he’ll turn into easy buckets once he gets stronger and spends a year or two in a college weight program. Lots of upside on this big, college programs willing to be patient with Shilling should pay close attention to him.
