In this article, we’ll take a look at some more teams that just missed our top 10 but we’ll be watching these teams closely to see if they take that next step.
Warren JFK
A team that’s had a lot of success over the years, Warren JFK returns a lot of upperclassmen that will make a big impact this season. Michael Condoleon Michael Condoleon 6'0" | PG John F. Kennedy | 2024 OH , Nick Ryan and Jaden Rishel are some notable returners.
Mogadore
A team that gave Richmond Heights a bit of a scare in the playoffs, Mogadore returns four starters and will once again be a tough out. Always a football powerhouse as well, you see a lot of the same names on the gridiron that you do on the hardwood for the Wildcats, who are still in the OHSAA football playoffs.
Oberlin
Oberlin fell in a tight contest to Mogadore in the playoffs last season and return a lot of pieces from that squad. Combine that with a schedule that features a handful of Division I and II teams, they’ll be battle tested heading into the playoffs. Josiah Bowen Pride had a big summer on the prep hoops circuit and is looking to carry that momentum to the winter.
East Canton
Maybe the team with the most size in this article, East Canton has Caleb Shilling Caleb Shilling 6'10" | C East Canton | 2024 State OH who caught our eyes at the prep hoops top 250 expo. Forward Jaedyn McLeod is another prospect to watch on this team who could be one of the most improved teams in the state.
Badger
For Badger, it starts with star Duncan Moy Duncan Moy 6'4" | SG Joseph Badger | 2024 State OH who recently committed to Cal (PA). After returning to Badger last season, he led the Braves to a 20 win season.
Cornerstone Christian
Quinn Kwasniak Quinn Kwasniak 6'3" | SG Cornerstone Christian | 2025 State OH is set to break the all time 3-point record in Ohio as he is one of the most prolific shooters in the state. The Patriots graduate some key players and guard Carter Armstrong Carter Armstrong 6'2" | CG Cleveland Heights | 2025 State OH transferred to Cleveland Heights, if he returned, you would’ve seen Cornerstone Christian in our top 10.
