There was some buzz in the gym surrounding Jones’ play on Friday. The 6’6″ wing has impressive positional size and length on the perimeter. Then, he starts shooting it from three-point range to really capture your attention. Jones, a rising senior at Edgewood High School, was excellent at the IBCA Top 100 Showcase and should continue to garner a good deal of small college interest this summer.

Lengthy wing that can flat out shoot it. Does a good job moving off the ball and getting himself open. At 6’6” he’s able to elevate into his shot without needing much space. He’s a fluid athlete that guards his position well while being a solid rebounder that can rip and run off the defensive glass. Improving his floor game off the bounce. Able to play in the mid-post against a mismatch and play over the top. Intriguing size on the wing as a knockdown shooter.

Out of the few under-the-radar players I was able to get eyes on Friday morning at the Wabash Valley Tournament was Edgewood junior wing Caden Jones Caden Jones 6'6" | SF Edgewood | 2027 State IN . At a long and lanky 6’6, Jones is a versatile player but mostly wants to play on the wing where he can score both on and off the ball. A really good spot up shooter while also able to take his defender off the dribble and score in the lane. He finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds in Edgewood’s win over Linton.

Caden Jones Caden Jones 6'6" | SF Edgewood | 2027 State IN is an uncommitted junior that could take a leap this season as he will see an increased role. His best area was rebounding where he was able to get 4.5 rebounds per game. As a 6’6″ small forward with an increased role, this number should go up along with his 10.1 points per game average from last year. He was also an imposing force on the defensive end rejecting at least one shot per game. Offers for Caden Jones Caden Jones 6'6" | SF Edgewood | 2027 State IN should come in this season if he meets expectations.

Anytime you comes across a 6’6″ wing that can really shoot the basketball you are going to be intrigued. Jones displayed his three-point shooting ability in the couple of games we watched at UA Rise Session I of the Indiana Jammers 16u squad. His catch-and-shoot ability is what stands out the most and is certainly the most projectable, but he is also able to attack closeouts in a straight line to his right hand as the defense runs at him aggressively. When the shots start to fall it is pretty impressive. Under-the-radar prospect from Edgewood High School that could really breakout over the next year or so.

A talented wing from Edgewood High School, Jones poured in 25 of his game-high 28 points in the second half to help lead the Indiana Jammers – UA Rise 16u squad in a close 72-69 loss to a very good Ohio Basketball Club team. Jones has the requisite athleticism and length on the perimeter and used those physical tools, along with his skill, to dominate as a go-to scorer in this matchup.
