Bennett is an extremely hard worker. He put in extra work to improve his outside shot and he showed amazing improvement throughout his senior season. He hustles and gives his 100% every single play. He dominates the glass and does the little things very well. He improved a lot during his senior season.

Strengths: Shot Blocking, Hustle, Rebounding
Breakdown: Howe is one of the better shot blockers on this list of unsigned forwards, combining great timing with length and hustle. A lot of what he does stems off of great hustle and the intention to get up and down the floor to get involved in every play he can. That rings true for his offensive game as well, as most of his buckets come either with him moving towards the hoop or cleaning up on the glass. He’s not as efficient working with his back to the basket, but there is room for improvement there.
Outlook: Howe could be a nice shot-blocking, rebounding forward, with the possibility of working the baseline space, corner to corner. He’s shown an aptitude to hit the corner three and actually has some good form on the jumper that shows he could start looking outside more often. Again, it comes back to his energy. He is an effective offensive rebounder and if he shows that outside shot can be incorporated more, could be a big threat finishing possessions on offense.

Howe is a big body down low who plays his heart out every possession. He is a monster on the glass, always relentlessly trying to get the ball. He is smart on offense, setting a lot of screens and posting up for the ball at the block often. He has the ability to step out and hit the 3 ball too. Defensively, he is all over the place. He defends the basket very well, contesting anything that is near him.

I already mentioned his teammate, Blaine Granberg Blaine Granberg 6'3" | CG Burlington-Edison | 2023 State WA , as they both has very impactful games for Burlington-Edison against their rivals, Mount Vernon. Howe is a big body down low who can rebound very, very well. He hustles every single play, which is something college coaches are always watching for. He finished the game with 12 points, 14 rebounds, and contributed 4 blocks. This senior is going to be a problem on the glass all season.

I just mentioned Bennett the other day when I released the Burlington-Edison team preview. He’s a player in the state that I believe will be taking the next step during his senior season. His game showed a lot of growth over the off-season in many assets. His shot has improved, his handles have improved, and he continues to get more athletic every time I see him. He can jump out of the gym being able to dunk on many players, which can cause a big momentum change during the game. I expect him to be a major part of this Tigers team, leading to a lot of touches that can help him have a breakout year.

When I watched this Burlington-Edison team over the summer, they had shown tremendous growth since I saw them lose to Sehome in districts. Howe specifically has improved quite a bit. He’s extremely physical on the court, always being involved in rebounds and loose balls. He goes up strong, being able to dunk on players in needed. The one thing that stands out most? His drive to win. He sprints back EVERY play. Doesn’t matter if he air-balled a shot or if he just had the dunk of the year, he will be getting back to play defense.

Bennett is another guy I watched a lot of this summer playing locally up here in Whatcom County. Howe is extremely athletic, as he threw down multiple dunks over defenders throughout the summer. His long range shot has taken a step in the right direction, as you can tell he’s been working on it. He’s done a fantastic job at mastering post moves down low too, as he has almost mastered his turnaround shot from the low post. His senior year will be one to pay attention too.

Bennett is another extremely athletic player who played very well over the summer. I remember watching Bennett and Burlington-Edison play in the district playoffs last year, his game has improved a lot since then. Over the summer he’s proved that he can hit the long range shot but also hit the mid range shot consistently, while being contested too. He is always all over the boards, grabbing many rebounds over his defenders using his athleticism to rise above. Howe is locked in right when the game starts. You will always see him hustle back on defense, even if he’s the one to throw down a big transition dunk. Him & the Tigers are going to have a solid year.
