Whitney showed he is ready for his heightened role and was probably the best player on the floor in Gibbons win over Cape Fear Academy on Friday Night. After a slow start for the team, Whitney used his paint touch ability to create quality looks for himself and others, leading to a complete effort and a win for Gibbons. This allowed the defense to get set where Whitney was a consistent presence in passing lanes and guarding the point of attack. Whitney can make shots off the catch or bounce, but is at his best getting downhill making plays. A true playmaking guard with high IQ and some flare, expect a big year from Whitney.
