He has been consistently good for Woodard in their 2-0 start to the season. He finished with 24 points in each win. He is a point guard who scores at a very high level. He is long and athletic at 6’1. He is a slashing type of guard with great handles who can get around the defense with his quickness and great ball-handling skills. He can and does shoot the three, and hits quite a bit from distance. His game is built for the open floor and getting to the basket. He also displays a nice mid-range game with a floater and a pull-up J that he uses often. I expect him to be one of the best guards in District 4 and all of 2A this season. Averaging 24 points a game through his first two games, he is off to a great start after averaging 18 a game last year.

I am counting him from the Clark County side of Woodland. He is another one who loves to get out and run. He is a good team defense player who will get steals and easy layups by reading and reacting. He has good speed and quickness. He has good ball skills as a point guard, combined with an athletic and long frame for his size. He gets downhill well and is good around the basket when he gets there. He has one speed and it is go time. He has a decent shot from three but his game is more of a slashing type point guard who can get himself into the paint and score. He is especially good going to his left and pulling up for a shot or finishing at the rim. He also makes some great plays finding teammates once he goes by the defense. He has a natural knack for handling the ball and looks like a true point guard with a high upside. He will look to improve on his 18PPG this season on a Woodland team that will challenge in 2A GSHL with almost everyone back.

He is no doubt the go to guy and leader of this team. He was their leading scorer last season at over 17PPG, while running the point. He scores a good majority of his points getting downhill and finishing shots with floaters, pull-up jumpers, and getting all the way to the rim. He is best going to his left, and he’s a good enough athlete to get past the first line of defense. He put up 26 points in the loss to Tumwater in the district tournament. Take away the turnovers forced by Tumwater’s full court pressure and this was anybody’s game. He is a theif on defense with quick hands and good anticipation. I’m sure he led his team in steals and when he gets them, he is off to the races. He’s a capable three point shooter and if he improves that part of his game, look out. He’s a legit talent in 2A district 4 and the GSHL.

Swett might be the most underrated or overlooked player on this squad, and is certainly deserving of a starting nod. However, with the depth at the guard position, Swett is more valuable coming in as a leader of the second unit with his poise and passing ability. Even though he put up 17 PPG last year, he is a pass-first guard. He has a great feel for setting up passes and timing them just right. He can also be a vital floor spacer for this team as one of the better three-point shooters in the region. Swett will be key in making sure there is no drop-off as the lineups rotate.
