Pettit is a promising young player with a lot of potential. As he enters his freshman season, he has good size, strength, and a solid high school-ready physique. Pettit is somewhat of a “tweener,” meaning he could be labeled as a big player due to his program’s lack of size, but that would limit his development. He has decent ball-handling ability and a variety of turnaround shots, along with good athleticism and an aggressive mindset geared toward scoring. With proper coaching, he could excel as a small forward if he learns to cut effectively and is allowed to shoot. To truly unlock his full basketball potential, he will need to become a more willing passer.
