Eschmann has proven he’s a scorer you can’t ignore, putting together multiple double digit games and a season high 43 point performance that should have everyone taking notice. He works tirelessly to create space, attacking the basket and scoring from all over the court. His vision and awareness make him a dual threat as he keeps his eyes up to find open shooters and forces defenders into mistakes that teammates can capitalize on. Eschmann’s combination of scoring ability, effort and playmaking makes him a dynamic offensive weapon and a player teams now have to account for every possession

Andrew makes a huge jump in the rankings of over 30 spots, and for me, it comes down to growth and production. Every single time that we saw him this summer, he was getting a headshot for being a standout after and that is due to him making shots consistently and making plays. He was a pleasant surprise standout that just seems to pop. He makes plays happen with the ball in his hands but also got hot from deep and lit it up. We saw him have a few big scoring games, but he is also a shooting guard who can play without the ball as well. He doesn’t get attacked defensively, he rebounds well for his position, and is always looking to make a play. We saw him in grassroots and he was a top player at our showcase as well. We’re excited to see if that translates for his high school team as well as we think he has a BIG year.

Eschmann is a player who continues to surprise. He stands out in every setting that I have seen him in and this was another solid outing for him. He was balanced throughout the day as he’s a versatile guard who knows where to be to be impactful. He can play both on and off the ball ,but he’s constantly moving and making things happen. What stands out about Andrew is his ability to score at all three levels. He can put the ball in the floor and get it done, come off of a screen or be a ready for a set shot. His IQ and willingness to run lanes, move the ball, and defend made him impactful in every stretch. A player we’ve enjoyed all summer, Eschmann proved once again he’s more than a one-day standout.

Eschmann was everywhere in the games that I watched. He was dropping dimes, picking pockets, and knocking down step-back shots. He’s a high-IQ guard with vision and confidence. He pushed the tempo, made plays off the bounce, and competed defensively. We’ve now seen him on a couple of occasions, and this was the most complete weekend we’ve seen from him. The motor never stops, and he knows how to control the pace. He’s firmly on the radar after this weekend’s performance and is a player we hope to see during showcase season, he’s a riser.

Andrew showed his competitive spirit, and that is what stood out to me. His team was up against one of the best 16U teams, and he competed, played hard, and made things happen amongst the trees. He was shooting the ball, created on some tough and creative finishes, got defenders in the air, and got the foul, and that’s high IQ ball no matter the circumstance. Some things you cannot teach and he has those intangibles.

Eschmann kept the ball moving within the halfcourt, converting good looks into great ones for teammates. The guard brings a capable handle versus pressure, at this best as a secondary creator against the rotating defense. The guard’s growth with his ability to control the pace versus pressure has been particularly encouraging, Regis Jesuit has quite a few quality backcourt playmakers in their farm system.

Eschmann has the ball on a string, bringing decisive crossovers and combo moves to free up space from his defender. Fairly shifty against the point of attack defense, the guard has routinely been depended upon to set up the Flyers’ half court offense.
