Davis does such a nice job in this Garner backcourt finding a way to be truly impactful with his usage. Davis is a crafty finisher around the rim and despite having a smaller frame, he uses it well in the teeth of the defense to finish through contact when needed. He’s got a slick handle to break defenders down off the bounce + the ability to knock down the triple off the catch or dribble. Davis finished with 15 points in this one and really got stronger as the game went along. Davis and Garner’s ability to absorb the early pressure, make the necessary corrections, and simply settle in is what got them the victory in the end. Davis provides a great second scoring punch alongside Whitner in the Garner back-court and should take a big step up next season after Darius graduates.
