Expert Analysis
Brandon Moore | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the most valuable skills in modern basketball is the ability to shoot the ball. Rechetnikov is an absolute flame thrower. If you leave him open, he will make you pay from behind the arc. He is also has the ability to attack closeouts and drive to the paint where he can make plays for himself and his teammates. Next level teams looking to bring in a knock down shooter should take a close look at Alex.

Rechetnikov is a kid we’ve mentioned time and time again, but he undoubtedly is a top shooter in the state. He’s made 28 threes at a 47% clip, and knows how to really space the floor and stay composed to knock down the open shot. He’s got legitimate size and length to play on the wing as well. While there aren’t any scholarship offers available to him yet, some should be coming very soon with his ability to shoot it.

Rechetnikov was dialed in from the perimeter in the first half, but he cooled in the second half. He continues to show off his ability to create for himself off the catch and off the bounce as an unsigned senior prospect. He finished with 14 points and four made 3-pointers.

is an underrated shooting guard prospect to get to know after having a solid outing in the UpNext Hoops backcourt as their primary scorer. He’s slowly starting to find his confidence as a perimeter presence and downhill scoring threat with a big senior season ahead of him while joining the Southern Wake Academy rotation. He’s an intriguing guard prospect that can knock down shots in rhythm and score tough buckets in traffic at the off-guard spot. As he finds his swagger defensively, look for DII and DIII programs to start taking interest in him.

Rechetnikov is purely one of the best shooters in the state and should get a lot more eyes on him this upcoming year. He’s got impressive range from deep with a really pure shot, hallmarks of being a 2 guard at the next level. He also is legitimately sized at 6’4, and has a solid frame that can be expanded on in order to become a more physical defender. Passing lanes become dangerous when he’s in them as he’s become better as a defender over the course of the summer. There’s a lot to like with a kid who can shoot the cover off it, has a college ready frame, and is making strides on both ends of the floor.

is a prospect that’s had himself a productive spring already with UpNext Hoops. He’s a big mover in the 2024 rankings as he moves into the top 100 at the 78th spot. He’s capable of knocking down shots on the perimeter and off the bounce at volume when given opportunities. He’s one to keep an eye on as he finds his confidence on the hardwood.

Rechetnikov had a solid weekend for Up Next Hoops, a program continuing to get more traction this year. He brings a long, versatile body as a wing to the court, and looks to have grown some more and increased his wingspan and length. He’s still doing what he’s always done best though, and that’s shooting the ball at a high clip. He knocked down shots all weekend for his team, which kept them in the game at the right times against some strong competition. He does whatever is asked of him on both ends of the floor, and there’s a lot of potential room for growth with his body type and already existing length. He should grow into a 3 and D wing that a lot of lower level schools would be remiss to not recruit at some point soon.
