proved to compete with a relentless motor that fueled his production on both sides of the ball, his offensive energy in particular was on another level. Possessing a broad, powerful upper body, Lucas absorbed and finished through contact with excellent control and balance. Lucas showcased textbook shooting mechanics with a smooth, high-arcing lefty jumper that translated fluidly from mid-range to beyond the arc. Off the dribble, his elite footwork and creativity stood out. utilizing stepbacks, hesi’s, and sudden burst changes to gain separation. Inside the lane, his stride stops, pivots, and step-through counters allowed him to create clean looks in traffic.

Alec showcased his speed and handles by crossing over and blowing past defenders. Was shifty with the ball and that led to him scoring a lot of pull-up jumpers with the crossover. A good finisher at the rim and made many tough layups. He can shoot the three and had a nice float game going to the rim. Was good in the pick-and-roll as he set up teammates to score or would take advantage of the open lane to score.

was one of the more entertaining guards to watch during the Freshman Showcase. He could not be guarded when put in one on one situations on the offensive side, easily gliding past his matchup to the basket, all this while getting in his opponent’s head with a little trash talk. I think a great comparison for Alec would be Draymond Green, where he is proving that he can do it all on the offensive end dishing out some assists, driving to the rim, and hitting jumpers at a consistent rate. He also plays aggressive defense and is able to body up his defender while stealing the ball at a high rate as well. Anyone watching could tell Alec plays with a high passion for the game and is one of those players that you love to have on your squad, but hate if he’s on the other side of the court.

Lucas is pure lightning on the court. One of the faster players I saw at the showcase, he can steal the ball and be down the court for an easy deuce in seconds flat. He’s aggressive and he hustles on defense, which I love to see. Not only that, but he clearly has plenty of fun while doing it. He was part of the most entertaining 1-on-1 matchup I saw all day when he took on Lijah Brown from Boswell for an extended period during their game. They absolutely went at each other on both ends of the floor and were all smiles while doing so. Lucas is a fierce two-way combo guard and a lethal competitor with tons of potential.
