The junior has fit into his new program by doing a little bit of everything. In the Saturday night win, he was a scrappy secondary scorer. He was effective with his ability to dictate pace on his drives. Mid-range jumpers, nice finishes and even crashing the offensive glass. One of those putbacks was pure desire. As he ran the floor in transition and fought for a putback amongst a crowd of opponents. It was the type of small winning play that will add up over the course of the season and points toward a bright future for Cooper-Kelley.

The poster boy for making a steady jump over the last year. Cooper-Kelley carved out a notable role on a senior leaden team, then took it to the next level, or maybe a couple levels, with his grassroots play. He’s always been a crafty driver, playing with a good pace. Now he’s quicker and stronger off the bounce, with the ability to stop in pop in the mid-range. Or three. A quieter prospect, but clearly consistently stacking days. With his gradual increase in production and evolving skillset serving as a strong reminder that he’s among the better 2027s in Oklahoma.

One of the breakout players in Class 6A this past winter. He’s a hard nose guard, who is tough when getting downhill. Plays calm and controlled as a driver, really starting to understand how to play at his own pace. After earning a big role on a senior laden team, he’s kept his foot on the pedal this AAU season. He’s becoming a very adept off the dribble shooting, making him a well rounded scorer. Continuing to develop his ability as a passer is the next step in a guard who’s rise had been steady over the last 9 months.

A killer in the second half of a Saturday evening win. Was unstoppable off the dribble, playing at his own pace. Ball fakes, hesitation moves and more kept the defenders guessing. As he seemingly got to the rim at will. It’s impressive because Cooper-Kelley won’t wow with pure speed or quickness. But can change gears and slithery through and by defenders. Even drilled big threes when the defense played off of him. Another prospect who started to shine as a sophomore and is set for a huge junior campaign.

There’s something to be said for simply running your own race. The rise of Cooper-Kelley over the last year is a good case for that. Waited his turn as a freshman at a 6A program, then saw a growth spurt, that also included a boost in strength and athleticism. Which turned him into an impact player for a good Timberwolves team. He seems to be quietly stacking days, and is getting better with each viewing.
This weekend at the 17U level he was in control throughout. Making his smart gambles and havoc causing on defense. While also getting to his spots and scoring with the poise of an older player on offense. Right now, he’s at his best on offense as a sneaky slasher, while also having an effective old school mid-range game. Assuming he makes strides as a three point shooter this spring and summer, look for Cooper-Kelley to be among the most impactful players in Oklahoma next winter, regardless of class.

Following a breakout sophomore season, Cooper-Kelley will be running at the 17U level. On a high school team filled with upperclassman, he proved he has the toughness and craftiness to be among the better slashers in Oklahoma’s Class of 2027. He also applies a similar mindset on the often end of the floor by being a hard nosed and disruptive defensive impact player. This summer will be crucial for the Timberwolf to continue to develop his shooting and playmaking ability. Still, expect him to be one of the better two-way players in the 17U Divison.

Continuing to make his mark amongst Norman North’s talented sophomore group. Generally did a good job against PCN’s wave of pressure, even paying them back with a couple steals leading to transition points of his own. Seems to be maturing into an unflappable guard, who combines good finishing at the rim with creation for others. A steady guard, who’s influence will grow throughout the season.

Norman North has an interesting sophomore core and Cooper-Kelley has been arguably the standout of the group after a couple scrimmages watched. Heady guard, plays head up as a driver, complete with some wiggle to score himself at the rim or in the mid-range. Looks to be a knock-down shooter off the ball as well. Jack of all trades guard, who will help raise the floor for Norman North this year. While also tracking to grow into a floor general who will really shine as an upperclassman. Good example of excelling in a role early and getting better consistently with each viewing.

Head on a swivel guard, who did a good job of getting downhill and creating for himself and teammates. As a scorer he mixed in floaters, two foot stops and ball fakes, giving him a good unpredictable style to his attacking game. He also rarely forced a bad look, as he spread the ball around to teammates. Did a really good job of finding the openings the defenses gave him. Great skill foundation as he heads into the sophomore year.

is a player that locked up and defended his way onto this list. Every time he was on defense, he was playing essential defense to help his team get stops. Despite excelling at perimeter defense, he also came away with several steals. I recorded four steals in one game, with him turning one of them into fast break points. He showed the ability to score inside, but also flashed the ability to shoot the ball. He was essential in helping his team to finish fourth in the tournament, as he was one of the best perimeter defenders at the whole tournament.
