About Andrew

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Smart player, high IQ, loves to play under pressure, crunch player. Creator, I can create mf own shots and create open shots for my teammates. Smallest on the court sometimes but has the highest heart. Can take constructive criticism, very coachable, and like to take control of a game

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very reserved, observant kid. Very smart and head on straight. My mentality is to win, not only in sports but in life. My parents always preach to me about not being a follower. I try my best to lead myself and my friends in the right direction. Do great in my academics, sports and be responsible then I’ll be able to do what I want to do when I become an adult.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play AAU basketball for Loudcity Underdogs. This past summer we were on the PUMA circuit under SouthernTies. Top 40 at CP3 camp in Rockwall, TX.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel like I have to be a leader on the court being a point guard. I have to be vocal and sometimes get out of my comfort zone because of the position that I play. I less bt example and actions. I get my teammates involved. I’ve helped give back to my community participating in turkey drives during the holidays, back to school drives, and toy drives with my AAU organization.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Only challenge I have faced this far was undergoing knee surgery after completing my 8th grade basketball season and had to sit out my whole 8th grade summer AAU season. Very hard for me but I had to work hard with therapy to get back and I was able to compete a few minutes here and there at nationals in Florida. It was very challenging to get myself back to where I left off at

What type of college are you looking for?

Honestly, any college. I can’t be picky. Where ever I am accepted I will be greatful and very blessed. Of course my goal is D1, but D2, NAIA, JUCO, or HBCU

Crawford impressed in a Thursday viewing by knocking down a few different jumpers. Hitting from long range and looking smooth when getting to the mid-range. While currently not as athletically gifted as his often up tempo and aggressive teammates, at Del City the youngster brings a more control look and should help space the floor. Name to keep tabs on as he starts to mature physically as he already has a good skill based foundation.

A guard that played or defended about every position on the floor. Long and good lateral footwork allowed him to defend on the open floor.  Toughness and hustle also allowed him to hold his own in the post area when stuck down there on a switch or mismatch.  Nice mid-range jumper off the dribble pull-up. Again, a scrappy player that stood out with hustle on both ends of the floor.

While Crawford is still making his way back to full form following an injury, one thing is certain. The Del City Eagle can get cooking in the mid-range. Good handles, with a crossover plus shake and bake moves to create space to rise up and get cooking the 15-18 feet range. Looks to have an advanced skill level for his age. Will be one to track as he continues to recover from his injury and matures physically.
