Oklahoma State Tourn Coverage 15u Notes

Prep Hoops tipped off its Oklahoma State Tournament, and my coverage began with the 13U–15U age divisions at The Hive. I was able to catch an exciting game between two teams *Loud City Underdogs-55 Performance Factory) in the 15U Semi Finals. The action was so fast that I went back to the house and watched online. Listed below are players who earned notes on my evaluation of the game.    Tough Point Guard for his team that handled the pressure with great control using change of speed to create space to set up the offense. Outstanding shooter that needed no room to get the shot off either off the catch and shoot or off the dribble coming off a screen. Deep range from beyond the arch with smooth mechanics. Impressive player that a difference maker that I could see be a factor for his high school team     Fast guard that filled the lanes on many breaks scoring easy opportunities. Used a great a change of speed in the open with a nice through the leg move that got him to the rim multiple times finishing with a layup. Scored on a smooth run around jumper that drew all net. The turnaround was so fluent that you could tell he had spent hours perfecting the shot. Nice combo guard that looked aggressive on offense making things happen     Not sure if he started the game or not but when I watched his team play, he stood out doing the little things that made a difference. Solid size for a forward that looked like he had been in the weight room. Excellent job on holding the box out releasing to grab the ball with two hands securing the board. Moved without the ball cutting to the rim with good hands catching for the finish. Gained extra possessions for his team with his effort on the glass.     A guard that played or defended about every position on the floor. Long and good lateral footwork allowed him to defend on the open floor. Toughness and hustle also allowed him to hold his own in the post area when stuck down there on a switch or mismatch. Nice mid-range jumper off the dribble pull-up. Again, a scrappy player that stood out with hustle on both ends of the floor.     Strong frame forward that had an influence inside the painted area for his team. Tough defender that banged inside holding his own against more athletic post players. Ran the floor for a power forward that scored several layups on the break. Good solid post moves that was patience waiting for the defense to show something before giving an offensive move. I always like a player that holds a box out then snags the board with 2 hands     Quick guard that provided the team with a nice front back court applying pressure creating points off turnovers. Good first step on the drive that got to the rim finishing through contact or drawing a foul. Outside shot looked good with nice form that would allow him to attack weak close outs. Physical pressure defense that did a great job forcing the ball sideline forcing the ball into a trap. Again, a good 1-2 punch with his teammate number 0     Combo guard has great size in a strong looking frame. Good outside shooter that hit couple of 3's including a rare 4-point play. Good change of speed on the drive that changed direction finding the way to the rim for the finish. Nice speed in getting out on breaks filling the lanes for easy transition buckets. Around the boards on offense battling for rebounds or loose balls. A consistent player from what I saw that their high school coach may know what you will get every time he touches the floor.
