About Anthony

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very strong player. I feel like I can play all positions but my strongest point is playing off of the ball and going downhill and taking my defenders off of the dribble. Great mid range shooter and free throw shooter, can shoot the 3 ball also. Great finisher at the rim. Very hard worker. I feel like I'm a great defender also, I love guarding the best ball handler. Quick and shifty.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Very outgoing, outspoken, coachable. I have a winners mentality, very competitive spirit. Hate to lose but I know I can't win every game but I will try my best to help put my team in the best position to win.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play for Loudcity Underdogs AAU team. This past summer we played in the PUMA circuit under Southern Ties. I have played with Loudcity for the past 2 years. We are the one of the top teams in the state. I have been apart of the Made Hoops camp. I have gotten player spotlights in a few tournaments.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel like I am a great leader both on and off the court. I have always been told to not be a follower so I try my best to not follow the crowd but instead lead the crowd. A great team player. Very supportive of my teammates. With my AAU team we have hosted our own turkey drives during the holidays and also food drives and toy drives. Just to name a few community service events.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The only challenge that I have faced is having an injured quad which caused me to sit out my freshman year of football, which is the other sport that I love to play. Although I did not have to have surgery, I feel like I had to really take it easy and take care of my body so that I would not have to undergo surgery. Playing football would have helped me get ready for high school basketball.

What type of college are you looking for?

Honestly, I would be very grateful and blessed to receive a scholarship from anywhere to play basketball at the college level. The ultimate goal is playing for a D1 program but D2, NAIA, JUCO or HBCU would be an accomplishment for me and my family.
