-Hassan’s ability to fill it up stood out over the course of the year as an athletic downhill driver that can also knock down shots as a movement shooter for the Bulldogs. Still want to see him use his scoring gravity to hit and relocate to a different spot on the floor to produce more rapid ball movement. But the shooting ability at his size with his ability to create a bit off the bounce or slash downhill should make him a valuable commodity at the next level.

Hassan remains one of the more intriguing prospects in the Maryland Public School sector as a whole thanks to his combination of size and skill. He’s 6-foot-5 with legitimate guard skills and while Churchill has an establish primary ballhandler already, Hassan can take over the reigns when he’s in his flow state and shine bright as he exposes mismatches. He can get it going off the catch from three and is the type of the player that when his confidence is high, he’s liable to put up 25-30 points on a given night. In spurts, he’ll make highlights off isolations with a decent bag of counters off the dribble and a long stride that helps him gain an edge. His length makes him a consistent presence on the glass and his fiery edge, while sometimes can get the better of him, can be a positive impact on his teammates and force them to match his energy.

Hassan impressed with his ability to score on the perimeter converting early and often for his Churchill squad. He had six three pointers. I liked how he was able to connect with others for scoring chances of their own. He needs to improve on his frame and work on getting stronger. He has some real potential and is just starting to scratch the surface in his development.

Hassan should see a significant boost in stock after his two games in Salisbury. The 6-foot-5 senior can play the guard or wing spot and fueled Winston Churchill to a win on Saturday morning against Walkersville scoring 26 points on an efficient 10-of-18 from the field and 6-of-11 from beyond the arc. He hauled in eight rebounds in which he led coast-to-coast scenarios utilizing his long strides around the rim to extend his angles and slow his pace to throw defenders off. The jumper looked very fluid and confident today as Hassan would be on my list as one of the better post-grad prep candidates in the Maryland pubic school sector.

-Hassan has the ability to get hot in a hurry, turning in some impressive personal scoring runs that flipped the momentum of games for the Bulldogs. He’s got great positional size, has really worked on his handle to allow him to get into his jumpshot more efficiently off the bounce, and has become a tough shot-maker over the past few months. Whether it’s a stepback two or a sidestep three, the bag has improved quite a bit to allow him to score more easily and consistently in the halfcourt.

-There’s a lot to like here as a rising senior guard that can really fill it up from the perimeter. Hassan has good size and length at his position, can really shoot the pill, and has enough wiggle as a ballhandler to free himself up well for shots. Want to see him embrace contact more often on drives to the basket and mix it up amongst the trees for rebounds to boost his value as a wing G/W tweener at the next level. Could certainly see him fight his way into our top 100 by the time his senior year has finished with consistent standout play.

was outstanding today for Winston Churchhill. Ahmad is a great two-way player who uses his length effectively defensively. Ahmed is a talented scorer who can get you a bucket from all three levels. Ahmed is a good spot-up shooter and can get his own bucket as a creator. Ahmed is the type of off-guard teams at the next level look for, and he was impressive today. He had 21 points in a Churchill win.

-Our favorite new name from the CHSL today, Hassan really stood out as a dynamic scoring guard that can fill it up from all 3 levels. Thought Hassan’s pace and timing coming off of ball screens or lifts from the baseline to the corners/wings was on point and led to some open looks against a FCS team that definitely keyed on him in the 2H as the primary option. Hassan has good size for an off ball guard, puts it on the floor well to create space for his jumper, and can shoot it from all 3 levels. Has the moxie and feel to crash the glass to come up with rebounds in traffic. Really good name to monitor in Montgomery County for Juco/Prep coaches this season.

Hassan will be entering this summer with a chip on his shoulder, ready to prove his worth out amongst Maryland’s top guards/wings. He is a sneaky athlete that inhabits some great guard skills that assist him in being effective on the court. Ahmed made some noise this season to our scouts due to some pretty solid performances. Hassan accepts challenge and goes into each game with a new slate. He will be an interesting player to watch the summer and into the next as he should gain some valuable experience through summer play.
