Adonis Wright Adonis Wright 6'3" | SG Weiss | 2027 State TX is one of the guards who I think has a tremendous ceiling and impacts the game tremendously whenever he is on the floor. He has very underrated athleticism and displayed this, finishing hard at the rim whenever I caught him in person at TABC. I could tell immediately from his energy that he is a valuable part of the Pflugerville Weiss team, and they definitely respect him as a vocal leader and a tough defender who can match up with anyone and make them work for their points. His backdoor cuts allow him to slash with great effectiveness, and he runs his lane effectively in transition for either lobs or quick jumpers.

As has been stated before, Adonis is one of the best defenders on this Weiss team and he proved that during Weiss’ win over Grand Prairie on Friday. Wright defended both the post and perimeter this game and despite being smaller than opposing paint players, he battled hard and ended up making life difficult for any matchups trying to score up against him. On offense, Adonis found success driving to the basket and pulling up off the dribble. His three point shooting is a bit streaky, but this can be improved and he showed flashes of efficiency from deep this weekend.

Wright is the physical anchor for a young Weiss squad. Strong and competitive, he embraces contact and does the heavy lifting, rebounding in traffic, defending multiple positions, and protecting the rim. Offensively, his game starts with downhill pressure. He finishes through contact, elevates for powerful dunks, and uses his handle to push the break after rebounds. His three-point shot is still streaky but trending upward. With Wright setting the tone, Weiss has a foundational piece to build around.

A high flyer off one and two feet, he threw down dunks in multiple situations, from drop-off passes on his backdoor cuts showing quick bounce, slashing down the lane with force, and catching alley-oops on the fast break.
