TABC Showcase: 2027 Prospects College Coaches Should Recruit

This article is a continuation of my coverage at the TABC showcase last weekend in Dallas. My main goal was to watch younger talent, but here are some upperclassmen 2027 prospects I feel like college coaches simply should not ignore when recruiting. This group of guards/forwards had some flashes that helped solidy their case for the next level in my eyes this weekend and they all showcase hustle and effort on both ends of the floor. Call them sleepers if you will, but all five of these players will end up playing at the collegiate level if you ask me.    On offense, Kai is one of the most lethal guards I watched this weekend who can hurt the defense in a variety of ways. Emerging as a dual threat playmaker and scorer, Swift can score from all three levels effectively and he takes advantage of smaller guards well with the ball in his hands. He made several tough mid-range shots and displayed smooth mechanics on his long range jumper. He has the wingspan to make sure opposing guards feel pressured going against him and his long strides allow him to glide ahead of everyone on fastbreaks.     [player_tooltip player_id='3661264' first='Daniel' last='Clark'] is a guard for Westfield who contributes to the stat sheet in all categories. Clark showed good range from deep in Westfield's win over Frisco Independence this weekend and he also was able to get to the basket with some crafty moves and eurosteps. Clark handles the ball well from either guard slot and showed that he can keep defenders guessing with his perimeter play. He has underrated playmaking and possesses good court awareness on both offense/defense.     [player_tooltip player_id='3684780' first='Larry' last='Hoover'] uses size and a physical frame at his position to bully defenders in the post and finish at the rim with authority. Hoover is effective off the pick and roll going to the basket and he also showcased smooth mechanics on a midrange jumper when left open. I like his ability to crash the boards in transition and get second chance rebounds or prevent the opposing team from scoring on the interior.     As has been stated before, Adonis is one of the best defenders on this Weiss team and he proved that during Weiss' win over Grand Prairie on Friday. Wright defended both the post and perimeter this game and despite being smaller than opposing paint players, he battled hard and ended up making life difficult for any matchups trying to score up against him. On offense, Adonis found success driving to the basket and pulling up off the dribble. His three point shooting is a bit streaky, but this can be improved and he showed flashes of efficiency from deep this weekend.     [player_tooltip player_id='2252475' first='Coen' last='Findley'] caught my attention with his vocality and energy on the defensive side of the ball. He picked up full court throughout the game, making sure the offense was never comfortable when he was guarding the ball. He got to the free throw line multiple times on offense and made sure to cash in at the foul stripe. Findley utilizes speed and off ball movement to constantly shake defenders and get free for cuts or perimeter shots.
