About Aaron

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a pass first guard who spaces the floor well with my shooting ability and my vision and basketball iq are probably the best part of my game. I usually know the other teams play and call it out before it even happens. Also, I can guard all 5 positions with height and my arm span. I take up a lot of space so I give quick guards a step and can still contest on shots.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality has always been I want to have the most impact on the court and if that's not scoring I will in other ways like passing ball handling or anyway I can. I like to be competitive but a lot of my coaches have said that I can be too competitive sometimes. Also, I have been told that I am extremely coachable by numerous coaches.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes. I am involved in DECA, a high school business club, where you create a business and a plan to grow the business. This business plan is then presented at competition. My team and I have made the state competition the past 2 years since freshman year. Both years we placed in the top 10.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think that I have developed great leadership skills. I like to keep everyone on track and focused during practice. I also think that I am a good teammate. I like to joke around with my teammates at the appropriate times, but then push my teammates when necessary. My church youth group goes to Feed My Starving Children every year to pack food. My basketball team does the same thing.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have had a couple coaches that will put the kids they like on the floor not the best ones. Also, I had a coach that would give up on us if we were down in the fourth quarter and that just hurt my confidence.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a positive team culture . Also, a team that will push me to be the best player I can be. Finally, I would love to play for a coach who knows what play style suits the team best and adapts to the players' strengths.
