Saturday’s football game in Madison was a big recruiting opportunity for Greg Gard’s basketball staff. Among talented prospects from other states, the Badgers hosted committed Minnesota 2017s for their official visits (Nate Reuvers of Lakeville North, Brad Davison of Maple Grove) along with younger MN prospects who have offers or may grab one down the line (Matt Hurt of Rochester JM, Jarvis Thomas of Orono).
More on Matt Hurt‘s week: Louisville head coach Rick Pitino will visit him Tuesday.
Prior Lake senior Brian Sitzmann received his first D2 scholarship offer yesterday from UM-Crookston.
St. Cloud Cathedral junior forward Michael Schaefer unofficially visited Drake yesterday.
Junior Delano guard Calvin Wishart will visit Drake Thursday for an unofficial visit.
DeLaSalle sophomore point guard Tyrell Terry will take an unofficial visit to Northern Iowa this Friday. The next day he will attend Iowa’s football game on another unofficial.
Lakeville North sophomore forward Tyler Wahl will unofficially visit Northern Iowa this Thursday.
Mitch Plombon of Cathedral, Nate Rund of Fergus Falls, Ethan Youso of Virginia were all guests of Moorhead State this weekend.
St. Cloud State hosted a huge list of 2018 kids for practice on Monday night. That list included Brevyn Spann-Ford (St. Cloud Tech), James Kaczor (St. Cloud Tech), Cam Jackson, Kail Lindgren (St. Cloud Tech), Justin Balcome (Alexandria), Cody Landwehr (Sauk Rapids), Ryan Larson (Cretin-Derham Hall), Trevor Kaiser (Dassel-Cokato) and Mitch Plombon (St. Cloud Cathedral). Landwehr also plans to visit SMSU this week. Denver U will come see a workout of his tomorrow.
Jamestown University offered senior Grand Rapids post Brock Schrom on October 12. Jamestown also extended Becker wing Hunter McCalla on the same day.
The U of Minnesota staff stopped in Esko to visit huge 7-foot-2 junior Adam Trapp on October 12.
Nebraska-Omaha visited Minnehaha Academy junior Jovanni Bickham on October 14.
North Dakota came last week to visit junior North St. Paul guard Goodnews Kpeogol and East Ridge forward Courtney Brown, Jr. The staff offered Brown shortly afterwards, giving him his first scholarship offer.
