Jacob Butler (6’2 SG) & De’Meiko Anderson (5’11 PG) of Minneapolis North. It’s tough to fill this entire article with Polars but that’s the level of players they have in the sophomore class. North played a difficult schedule and the sophomores played a big part in the depth with Butler and Anderson each scoring 8-9 a game.
Hayden Jones of St. James (6’4 SF). The Saints had a rough year but Jones was a 20 point per game level scorer with nearly 20 a game for his team (18 a contest average). Had a 28 point game beating Windom.
Eli King Eli King 6'2" | PG Caledonia | 2022 State #151 Nation MN of Caledonia (6’3 CG). King is a combo guard who has the toughness of his brother Noah, the frame (although bigger) of his brother Owen, and the athletic ability of a player rarely ever seen in southern Minnesota. People are captivated by King’s highlight finishes but I love his ability to beat anybody off the bounce in space for the 28-1, top ranked Warriors.
Theo Liu of Blake (6’3 SF). An up and coming forward that really had a few rocky points but a lot less than most sophomores who play a lot of minutes. Gave Blake a legit fourth scoring option game to game.
[player_tooltip player_id="850706" first="Jackson" last="Loge"]Jackson Loge Jackson Loge 6'7" | C Morris Area | 2022 State MN of Morris Area (6’7 PF). Son of former Gopher Kevin Loge, Jackson averaged 23 a game for his team this year. A skilled low post player with comfort facing the basket or with his back to it. Loge has good shooting range.
Tony Nelson of T-M-B (6’6 PF). A power forward with good size that averaged 17 and nine this year recording a double-double in just under half of his games this year. A couple 30 point games this year.
Mario Sanders II Mario Sanders II 5'11" | PG Minneapolis North | 2022 State MN of Minneapolis North (5’11 PG). Another Polar? Yep. Butler and Anderson jumped forward and joined Sanders making for a dynamite group of North guards. The Sanders ability to get past the defender and then keep that defender on his hip while he finds ways to make acrobatic shots around the basket away from the help.
Willie Wilson Willie Wilson 6'2" | CG Minneapolis North | 2022 State MN of Minneapolis North (6’2 CG). Wilson is a long armed slasher from Minnesota North that has a smooth looking jumper and a fast attacking transition game that I really like. Scored 16 a game this year playing for the top five ranked Polars at both guard spots. Has an offer from Florida among other places.
Justin Wohlers Justin Wohlers 6'6" | PF Lake City | 2022 State MN of Lake City (6’5 SF). The next Lake City big name player will be Justin Wohlers Justin Wohlers 6'6" | PF Lake City | 2022 State MN . One of the reasons Heise had so much space to work this year was that teams had to guard Wohlers on one side and Gastner on the other. Wohlers scored 11 a game.
Carson Woodford of Redwood Valley (6’7 C). The Valley always has up and coming talent and this year they won 19 games with a couple sophomores playing a big role. Alex Lang handled the scoring role in the backcourt while Woodford has grown to 6-foot-7 and scored 14 a game in the paint.
