WODE, run by super motivator Jermaine Seagers runs camps, workouts, and games, highlighting some of the best youth talent in the city. In this article, PH takes a look at some of the top prospects from the c/o 2023 game.
Jaiden Fisher 5’11 PG Desert Oasis (#10PHN) – Fisher is a good competitor. He was a willing defender, which says a lot considering it was an A.S Game. He showed that he’s capable of being a top perimeter defender. Good lateral quickness, and underrated strength, Fisher did a terrific job of getting in position and walling guys up on their drives.
Giali Chapman 6’0 PG Centennial – Chapman showed off his good offensive skill set. He glides through the lane and finishes well with his strong hand. Good knockdown shooter in catch and shoot situations.
Jake Bevacqua Jake Bevacqua 5'10" | PG The Meadows School | 2023 State NV 5’10 PG The Meadows School (#9PHN) – I finally got to see a healthy Jake! This kid is one of the most underrated players in the city. I love sitting close to the action because you can really get a feel for what other players think about a guy. The consensus among the crowd was that Bevacqua go. Great change of pace, high IQ PG. Loves to use hesitations to freeze defenders. HE IS NOT STEVE NASH! However, his playing style and mannerisms remind you of the two-time league MVP.
Tylen Riley 6’0 SG Durango – Riley was a player that jumped out for me. Cat quick defender with good instincts, he had several steals in the game. He has a good feel. and can score in a variety of ways.
Elijah Burney Elijah Burney 6'1" | PG Centennial | 2023 State NV 5’9 PG Centennial (#16PHN) – I saw some good things out of Burney today. He can shoot, and he also manufactured points with a couple putbacks. High IQ player that can be a floor-spacing PG.
Sterling Knox 6’3 SG Durango (#4PHN) – Knox really showed off his athleticism tonight. Shot the ball well, and showed that he can play above the rim. He missed several bunnies around the bucket, however, I liked his willingness to compete for boards. The one thing that was unmistakable was how physically imposing he was amongst his peers.
