That makes 47 new coaches out of the top three classes in Minnesota basketball (260 teams). That’s an 18 percent turnover statewide of Minnesota high school basketball coaches. (I still have to go through the Class A level to get the total number overall).
Here is the list of new Class AA coaches (although some are either not filled, or the new coach has not been announced to the state yet).

- Chris Hopkins has been the Edina head assistant for a handful of years now and used to coach in the MIAC
- Ariel McDonald played at the University of Minnesota in the 90s and was a professional overseas for many years
- Tim Williams played at Minnesota State-Moorhead and runs events in the Twin Cities
- James Carr has been teaching at HLWW for awhile now and has been coaching there for some time
- Wes Cummings, the new Moose Lake Coach is from Barnum but he’s been teaching and coaching there for several years. Now that Moose Lake is separate from Willow River he’s taken over the job.
