<strong>Ike Nweke</strong> will play a major role in the front court for Head Coach Ryan Eskow at <a href="http://www.gprep.org/athletics/teams-schedules/team-details/~athletics-team-id/23">Georgetown Prep</a> this season. I try to work hard, I try to rebound a lot," Nweke explained. "I try to make the open mid range jump shot. Whatever I can do to help the team. Play defense, block shots. Just have an all around game. Try and push in transition if I can." Nweke is a mobile, athletic power forward who plays above the rim on both ends of the floor. He's a very good finisher in traffic, and has a soft touch around the basket with either hand. Nweke believes that people often overlook two primary aspects of his game. "I have a pretty good pull up mid range. If you leave me open mid range I can probably sink the shot," he began. "People just kinda doubt my athleticism at times. I can just jump over them and get a rebound or finish with a dunk and go in strong. Athleticism and shooting for the most part." Right now, Nweke is working on ball handling so he can handle pressure and be able to shoot off the bounce. Nweke has received interest from Princeton, Columbia, and James Madison. As he continues to see his recruitment expand, Nweke is focused on the right fit for him in all aspects of life. "Personally, I want to have a school that is as good off the court as well as on the court," said Nweke. "A school that can really compete in basketball but also if basketball is not on my path after college that I might be able to get a good job and succeed later in life when the ball stops bouncing." What can college programs expect from Nweke? "Hard work, persistence, rebounding, strong play and aggressiveness."
