Matt Zona will return for Bergen Catholic. Plenty of eyes will be on the Notre Dame commit in his final season as he tries to lead his team back to where they came up short a season ago. When they take the floor in 2019, Bergen Catholic will be well represented in the class of 2022.
Will Richardson will be a key contributor for this team as a sophomore. He is ranked as the No. 2 sophomore in the state coming into the season. As a freshman, Richardson scored i ndouble-figures seven times. This included a 22 point performance in a win over Hackensack. Richardson picked up an offer from Vanderbilt and there will be plenty more to come over the his high school career.
Julian Brown is another player who saw some time as a freshman. He is another player expected to be one of the top sophomores in the state and make an impact this season. His season-high of 13 points came in a blowout win over Delbarton. At 6’2, Brown has the physical makeup to dominate for years to come. Rounding out their young trio is Elijah Flournoy who will be a key piece off the bench for Bergen Catholic.
This team has a recipe to be good once again this season and for years to come. Zona will lead the charge and make them elite this season.
