1. Keshawn Murphy, 6’9 WF, Ramsay: One of the most unique prospects in the state regardless of class due to his size and skillset. His ability to put the ball on the floor from the perimeter makes him a match-up nightmare. He can shoot with deep range off the catch or the dribble something that is not common for a player his age or height. He is the prototypical pick-and-pop 4-man on the next level with the ability to grab rebounds and initiate the fast-break. He has improved his intensity on the defensive end of the floor which has made him a legit high major prospect. He is a high volume rebounder in and out of his area. Look for him to continue to improve as he improves his skills as a wing.
2. Riley Leonard, 6’5 SF, Fairhope: A knockdown outside shooter off the catch. Possesses a very good handle with the ability to break down defenders from the wing and get to his spots on the floor. He has improved his decision making in the open and half-court which makes him a more complete perimeter player. He defends with a purpose and has the size to be a very good rebounder. He is relentless at attacking the basket and has the skills to be a volume scorer on the next level.
3. Kaleb Brown, 6’5 SF, Lee-Huntsville: A big body wing that is too big for most wing players, but quicker than many pos players. He has the skills of a point guard with the body of a post. The son of a coach so he displays a high basketball IQ while out on the court. A monster at attacking the basket and using his body to create and finish through contact. A very good passer for his size and position and is able to initiate offense which gives coaches multiple options while he is on the floor. Needs to continue to improve his rebounding from the wing but with more effort, he can be very formidable at that skill.
4. Dawson Sarblah, 6’5 SF, Greenville: A hyperactive athlete that thrives in the open court. His ability to guard just about any position on the floor makes him a very interesting prospect. While his activity and energy are probably his most productive skill it’s not much he cant do on the basketball court. He rebounds at a very high clip both on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. His ability to offensive rebound allows him to pad his scoring stats. He is a high-flyer that consistently finishes over the top of defenders in high-light fashion. Look for his stock to continue to rise as he improves his outside shooting.
5. Jailyn Murray, 6’7 SF, Leflore: Great size for a perimeter player. Long and rangy with the ability to guard all 5 positions on the court on the high school level. He has a very good handle for his size and skill-set. His ability to guard sets him apart for the rest of this class. Arguably the best defender in the top 20 he really gets after it on the defensive end. His athletic ability allows him to do many different things on the court from posting up smaller players to blowing by bigs that dare to try ad guard him on the wing. He needs to get stronger and look to score more on the offensive end of the floor as his skills have really improved over the last several years.
