Yet they have been having some dominating performances.
Top Performers From PH Music City Madness
Cayne McClure Cayne McClure 6'2" East Lawrence | 2027 AL (6’2/G|F/’27/East Lawrence)
IG: cayne_mcclure22
Cayne was a man on the boards throughout the weekend. He led the team in rebounding and was second in points. His size, physicality, and versatility were a problem, as he overpowered guards and was too quick for bigs. He is known as Baby Barkley because he competes at a high level, especially on the glass.
Gray Bennich (6’1/G/’27/Hartselle)
IG: gray_bennich
Gray could be the best shooter coming out of ’27 when it’s all said and done, as the sharpshooter shot around 40% from behind the arc over the weekend. He could easily be considered a 3&D player, as his energy on defense and quick release from distance on offense was a problem for the opposition. He averaged 17.2 points for the first 3 games.
Jaiysyion Payne (5’11/G/’27/Florence)
Jaiysyion got the team going with his shot-making and ability to create for others in the open court. He can pull up on a dime for the midi and knock down shots from deep behind the arc. Although hobbled with a bad ankle, he didn’t let that stop him from being a facilitator and making the right reads. He does a good job balancing scoring and facilitating, and as he gets healthier, he will make this squad more challenging than they already are.
Kade McCormack Kade McCormack 6'4" | PF Richland | 2027 AL (6’4/F/’27/Richland [TN])
Kade’s mental and physical toughness was on display all weekend. He had a team-high 20 points in one game, where he was outsized by several players. He has sneaky athleticism, as was seen with his attempted dunks. He has good positional size and is a player to keep monitoring.
Cameron Moore Cameron Moore 5'9" Hazel Green | 2027 AL (5’9/G/’27/Hazel Green)
Cam is a shifty guard with a quick first step. He did a good job getting past defenders and finishing at the rim or spraying to shooters for the open three. He is a floor general who is very poised, can run the show, and can also knock down the open three when the opportunity presents itself.
Reese Lockett Reese Lockett 6'2" Bob Jones | 2027 AL (6’3/G/’27/Bob Jones)
IG: reese_lockett
Reese is a big guard that can score at all levels. He can shoot it from deep and does a good job finishing around the rim while drawing contact. His size and shot-making ability make him a tough cover and another backcourt weapon for a team loaded at the guard spots.
