There is so much more talent to be aware of by just taking a little closer look at the players throughout the state. Here are just some of the current under the radar players to keep a close eye on as the season develops.
Under the radar players worth watching:
2020 6’5 SF Dima Gadeshev (Nathan Hale HS)
- Dima is almost entirely unknown in Washington, outside of his teammates at Nathan Hale. This will be his first year at Nathan Hale, transferring in from Canada. Dima is VERY athletic, in a 6’5 200 pound frame. He is already getting some college looks at various levels, but a strong season in the Metro League could really open things up for him. An absolute sleeper that can quickly wake people up this season with powerful finishes around the basket. Dima is also a 3.4 GPA student.
2020 6’6 F Muhammed Kora (Lindbergh HS)
- Kora is one of my favorite players to watch in the entire state. His energy, athleticism and length at 6’6 makes him a matchup problem at the high school level. He remains available at this point, recruitment wise. He put up some really big numbers last year for Lindbergh, but seems to be flying under the radar for some odd reason. College coaches should definitely be tracking and some even offering this senior.
2020 6’7 PF Vlad Salaridze (West Seattle HS)
- A player that has worked his tail off to get to where he is today. With the right opportunity, I could see Vlad having a very big senior year for West Seattle. He has a strong frame, smooth footwork and growing athleticism. One thing he does not lack is confidence. West Seattle is producing another sleeper that should bloom just in time.
2020 5’10 PG Pierre Joseph (Interlake HS)
- Pierre has started to receive some attention after a solid summer and Fall, but he is another senior that has grown into his game with maturity. The game has surely slowed down for him and he is seeing a play or two ahead now on the offensive side of the ball. Small colleges could definitely benefit from his point guard services. He is a great floor general and pass first point guard.
2020 6’6 SF Pierce Darlington (Glacier Peak HS)
- Pierce has a nice inside-out game at 6’6. He can finish above the rim and he can also finish with skill. Pierce can step out and hit the outside shot adding to his versatility. Most importantly, he loves the game for sure. He has a frame that can continue to add muscle and projects as a 3/4 in college, dependent on the system.
