Key Losses: Clayton Moore (6’3, F), Seth Jones (6’1,F)

Team struggled a year ago and losses senior Claytin Moore, who averaged 9.3 points and 5.9 rebounds, as well as its leading rebounder, Seth Jones, to graduation, but return leading scorer, 2020 guard Ethan Jameson, who averaged 12.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game last season.

Chanute (11-9, 4-6)

Key Losses: Corbett Kimberlin (6’0,G), Nate Audiss (6’3, G/F), Mason Manbeck (5’10, G)

The Blue Comets featured a big senior class last season, including guard Corbett Kimberlin, one of the state’s most underrated shooters. However, Chanute has some key pieces returning this season, led by do-everything forward Ty Bowman.

Field Kindley (12-10, 6-6)

Key Losses: Trey Myrie (6’0, G), CJ Kelley (6’2, G), Andrew Knight (6’6, F)

The Golden Tornado’s lose a deep and talented senior class, including its three leading scorers in Myrie, Knight and Kelley. Leading the way this season will likely beTariq Logan, who played a key role last season.

Fort Scott (6-14, 4-8)

Key Losses: Matt Campbell (6’5, F), Alex Michaud (5’10, G), Nick Lawrence (6’6, F).

Fort Scott featured an underrated front line last season in Matt Campbell and Nick Lawrence, both of whom have been lost to graduation. But the cupboard isn’t bare for a Fort Scott program looking to get on track as the Tiger return 6’6 2020 wing CJ Horton who brings size and an outside shooting touch to the court.

Independence (13-8, 5-5)

Key Losses: TJ Turner (6’1, F), Davion Lewis (6’5, F).

Independence put together a solid season a year ago and return one of the state’s top shooters and all-around guard in senior Jaden McGrath who is coming off a strong summer running with Kansas Pray N Play.

Parsons (18-7, 10-4)

Key Losses: Davonte Yates (6’3, F)

Parsons will have to replace athletic forward Davonte Yates, who brought a versatile skill set to the floor and was a key rebounder, defender and rim protector last season. However, the program returns three terrific guards in Dariq Williams, Ezekiel Lyons and Daquon Johnson and the trio will put significant pressure on opposing teams at both ends of the court.

Pittsburg (18-5, 12-0)

Key Losses: Brett Wiemers (6’3, G), Jerek Butcher (6’0, G/F), Payton Cantrell (6’5, F), Trent Austin (6’3, F), Ty Roark (6’0, G).

Pittsburg loses a deep senior class that featured a lot of talented players from a program that has had a strong run of terrific seasons in recent years. Lost to graduation is do-everything guard Brett Wiemers, strong outside shooter Jerek Butcher, athletic big man Trent Austin, wing player Payton Cantrell and tough guard Ty Roark. However, the Dragons return one of the state’s top backcourts in 2021 Javon Grant and 2020 Gavyn Elkamil. Surrounding those two with quality play will be a big key to another big season in Pittsburg.
