Tucker was a huge part of Northside Christian success and helped the program receive national notoriety due to their winning records and also his highlight dunks. With Tucker graduating and moving on to the college level there was definitely a vacancy for some star power at Northside and Nate Hinton has stepped up to become a name that college coaches have become very familiar with. Now he is taking his talents back to Gaston Day and there is no doubt that the college coaches will follow him closely over the next two years.
What makes him special?
The first attribute of Nate’s that caught my attention was his motor, he has outstanding energy and stamina that helps to get the entire team going, He’s the type of player that will take chargers, dive for loose balls and battle for just about every rebound that he can. Secondly is his athleticism, he plays above the rim on both ends of the floor with blocked shots defensively and rim rattling dunks on the offensive end. Last but not least is his competiveness, we live in a day and age where kids take loses lightly and simply act as if it’s no big deal. Well this is not the case for Nate, I caught up with him following a close loss to Forsyth Country Day and you could clearly tell that he wasn’t happy. He takes pride in playing at a high level and helping his team win and we fully expect him to take that same attitude right over to Gaston Day.
Recruitment
Up to this point Nate’s recruitment has been pretty busy, schools such as: Charlotte, Tulane, Georgia Southern, Winthrop and Wofford have already offered at this point. After a very good summer with Team Charlotte we expect his interest and offers to continue to grow throughout the season, he’s a very talented young man that brings it every time he steps on the floor.
