The Blazers’ do-everything guard is tops among division returnees in assists, steals and blocks, third in rebounding and second in scoring. We expect the Blazers to battle it out with Marion at the top of the division this year, and Keegan is the biggest reason why. You could also make strong arguments for Mount Vernon’s Keaton Kutcher and Marion’s Will Henricksen here, but Keegan’s ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor gives him the nod.
First Team
2020 Michael Keegan, Dyersville Beckman (18.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 3.3 steals, 2.7 blocks, 53.2 FG%)
The 6-5 do-everything guard led the Blazers in literally every statistical category last season, and did so efficiently, shooting 53.2% from the floor and 41.1% from the arc. He’s racked up a slew of D2 offers.
2021 Keaton Kutcher, Mount Vernon (20.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals, 73 3PM)
The division’s leading returning scorer, and one of the most dangerous shooters in the state, Kutcher buried 73 3s last season at a 41.7% clip.
2020 Will Henricksen, Marion (16.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals)
Henricksen transferred into Marion and helped lead the Indians to their second consecutive state tournament appearance. A gifted scorer capable of getting it done from all three levels, his 49 made 3s rank second among returnees.
2021 Kyle Kelley, West Delaware (13.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists)
With Derek Krogmann graduated, a lot of scoring opportunities will open up for Kelley, a talented guard with the ability to really shoot it off the dribble. The 6-4 guard was actually more efficient last year from 3 (41.5%) than from the floor in general (38.8%).
2020 Tucker Kinney, Central DeWitt (13.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 steals)
The division’s leading returning rebounder, Kinney led the Sabers in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals last season.
