This year there is a mixture of talented players at the public and private schools for various levels of colleges so let’s jump right in.
Grace Christian School: Last season they featured quite a bit of talent but will look somewhat different this season due to graduation and transfers. One of the returners for this squad will be Senior Guard Jonah Murr, the 6’3 Guard averaged 14 PPG last season and will be one of the leaders on the squad once again. 6’8 Senior Forward Allan Taylor will be back, he has the tools to be a solid prospect and simply has to lock in night in and night out, when he’s focused he is one of the better rebounders in the area. Transfer Guard Phil Martin returns back to the Sanford area for his senior year and should provide a nice amount of scoring for his squad, he can knock down the trey ball at a very high rate and can also slide over to play some PG when needed.
Lee County: The Yellow Jackets have some nice talent for the 2020 season, and should make some noise once they put all the pieces together. Senior Guard Jarrian Hancock is a prospect that has picked some interest over the last months due to his play and upside, any time that you have a player of his height at 6’5, that’s able to play some guard, you have to be intrigued. Another player to keep an eye on is Junior Shooting Guard JT Conwell, who is a player that can flat out knock down shots from three point land.
Cape Fear Christian: Expect a different look from CFCA this season, not only do they have a new coaching staff but they also bring in some new faces via transfer. Senior Guard Jamel Carter will spend some time at PG, he’s a guard that can facilitate an offense as well as knock down the open shot. Senior Forward Jeremyah McWilliams provides some nice size in the paint and has continued to get better over the last months. He has the ability to finish inside the paint, rebound and block shots, which has helped him picked up interest from colleges on almost every level. Senior Guard Austin Locklear has decided to take his talents to CFCA as well, at about 6’3 with nice scoring ability, he’s another player that should find himself on the radar of college coaches.
Overhills: They have lost quite a bit of talent over the past few years, but they still are a place to make a stop if you’re a college coach looking for a 2020 Guard. 2020 Guard Jase Ford will back for the squad and should see his role increase, he has proven himself as a legit college prospect over the years as well as this past summer. He has shown the ability to score the ball at a high rate and plays the game with a confidence that you have to love.
