[no. 17] Evan Mahaffey | 6-4 SF | Moeller / Apex
The Cincinnati Northwest transfer is poised to become an immediate contributor for the two-time defending State Champions. For a Moeller sophomore, that’s says a lot in itself. In June, he provided energy off the bench. Possesses tools to defend multiple positions and rebound. Wiry and athletic. Can handle the ball and get to the rack on straight-line-drives.
[no. 24] Aboubacar Cisse | 6-4 SF | Western Hills / C2K Elite
Physical and athletic slasher with a strong frame. Cisse scores at will in the paint, often using spin moves and other powerful gathers before dropping a layup in. Versatile defender. Plus rebounder who can push pace off the defensive glass.
[no. 25] Jacob Conner | 6-6 SF | Alter / Team Flyght
Slender and fluid forward with tremendous height and ball skills. Conner handles the ball with pace, like a guard. Equally capable of initiating offense as a distributor or operating in the high post like a power forward. Shoots it very well off the catch — from distance or the elbow. Adding size is Conner’s most pressing area of improvement.
[no. 28] Jamarion Lanum | 6-3 SF | Cleveland Heights / All Ohio Red
Long, wiry athlete who can defend and score it in transition. Uses length to score it over the top of smaller guard defenders. Defensively, Lanem bothers ball-handlers with his combination of quickness and wingspan.
[no. 37] Tom House | 6-5 SF | Centerville / C2K Elite
Big perimeter player with a knockdown jumper and great poise. Efficient with the ball — makes quick decisions and doesn’t over-dribble. Attacks the close-out, often stopping for a pull-up jumper in rhythm. Strong enough body to defend up a position.
[no. 40] Sam Marbury | 6-5 SF | Solon / TNBA
Tall and fluid wing with impressive ball skills. Uses jab steps to get past defenders. Once Marbury adds size to his frame — which will happen in due time — he will be a very productive slasher. Displays vision on drive-and-kick. Capable catch-and-shoot from 3.
[no. 44] Andrew Harp | 6-4 SF | Elder/ Shining Star – Price
Strong wing who can shoot it and operates with familiar GCL-South toughness and fundamentals. Active cutter and screener without the ball, which is how he often creates separation for a shot. Harp makes quick decisions. Uses his chest to defend the drive.
[no. 49] Brock Makrancy | 6-5 SF | Findlay / NW Ohio
Tall wing who can shoot it. Makrancy is a consistent mid-range threat when it comes to facing up and hoisting a jumper. Has the fluidity and quickness you’re looking for on the wing. Will need to add size to a slender frame.
[no. 52] Justin Perry | 6-5 SF | New Albany / Nova (Reese)
Great size and ball skills are what make Perry interesting. Uses his size advantage and footwork (i.e. jab series) after a jump stop to create shots in the mid-post. Perry also provides secondary ball-handling. Streaky shooter. Plus rebounder. Defends forwards and wings.
[no. 67] La’Neer Surles | 6-3 SF | Coventry / Hoop City Ohio
Athletic slasher who makes a defensive impact. Uses a strong body to get inside and, conversely, keep slashers away from the basket. Very strong rebounder. Effective scorer in transition.
