Sanders played grassroots basketball for HHBC ‘The Flight”. Last high school season, he averaged 9ppg, 3rpg, shot 48% from the field, and 38% from behind the arc. Sanders was also a 74% free throw shooter. During grassroots season, he averaged 12ppg and 9rpg. Sanders is an excellent student as well, holding a 3.98 GPA.
Sanders is an impressive basketball player. He’s an excellent defender that is routinely asked to guard the opponents best player. Sanders has shown the ability to effectively guard multiple positions. Over the course of his high school career, he has covered multiple Division 1 prospects. Sanders is extremely active on the offensive glass. He takes pride winning a battle for the ball and gaining extra possessions for his team. Sanders can score at all 3 levels and in a variety of ways. He can score both posting up with his back to the basket or facing the rim. Sanders can also finish at the basket in transition.
Bryce Sanders is always looking to improve as a player. He wants to be an even stronger prescense on the glass next season. Sanders expressed a desire to double his offensive rebound total. He’s also looking to take advantage of more scoring opportunities. Sanders has been hard at work in the weight room with a physical trainer in order to gain 15 pounds of muscle.
Sanders knows that experience is a key to becoming a well rounded player. He considers a win over 2019 state champion Ypsilanti-Lincoln, his top moment in the game so far. Sanders was given the task of slowing superstar Emoni Bates, and he was able to hold him under his season average. He also drained a critical 3 pointer that put Hanover Horton up 2 with less than 1:30 remaining. He’s looking forward to a game against Michigan Center next high school season. Sanders likes that the matchup has become a huge rivalry game in Jackson County and is usually sold out and televised by JTV.
Sanders should see his recruitment pick up steam this coming season, as he has a lot to offer a team at the next level. He will provide a coach with an unselfish team player that can, and will, do all the little things. Sanders will fight for loose balls, defend the top offensive threat, and set hard screens to get teammates open.
Bryce Sanders is driven by his goals. Hanover Horton lost in the regional finals his sophomore season and the quarterfinals last year, so he and his team have a state championship in their eyesight. Sanders is working hard to put himself in position to play college basketball at a school that fits his academic objectives. He plans to go into Business/Economics and hopes to study abroad.
Sanders is ready to achieve his goals and is motivated to do so.
