We will begin with breaking down the top 5 performers from the event, all are pretty much under the radar at this point but should see that change soon.
2020 Rolesville Guard Jaylin Mathis: Out of all the campers , he had to be the top player in the building and was dominant from start to finish. He has a quick first step and blew by defenders all game long. His ballhandling skills were impressive and he scored the ball at high rate all while maintaining a good amount of efficiency.
2020 Scotland County Guard Garrett Mcrae: He has the physique , presence and confidence of a player that knows they can play on the next level for sure. His combination of strength, scoring and ballhandling skills caused problems for just about every player that attempted to defend him on the day. He’s picked up some interest from colleges on various levels but his recruitment is wide open at this point , we are expecting a big time senior year from him!
2021 Scotland Christian Guard Brodie Clark: He put up monster numbers in his first few years of high school ball and we were excited to see what he would do in the setting against some other talented players. He didn’t disappoint, knocking down shots from three point range at a high level as well as displaying some impressive passing as well. He played thru physical contact and showed he is a dual threat playing on and off the ball.
2020 Southeast Raleigh Jared Glenn: He plays bigger than his 6’3 height would suggest and has some upper body strength and sneaky athleticism. His footwork was solid and he was pretty agile as he made some moves in the low and high post. As the day went on and players got tired, he still made plays and almost converted some highlight dunks.
2020 Southwest Guilford Bryce Causey: This wasn’t the first time we got the chance to see him but this was the better performance for sure. He has a nice IQ for the game , showed that he could score the ball in multiple ways by scoring inside and outside. Constantly moving without the ball in his hands , he makes defenders constantly work on that end of the floor.
