“Nicols has been a great coach, and honestly, I never really had a lot of fun playing basketball before this year. But he’s for sure made it a better experience,” Schermann said.
Trevor listed St. Thomas, St. John’s, SMSU, Mankato, Augustana, Bemidji State, Drake and Augsburg as the football programs showing him interest. He caught 18 receptions for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns as a junior, behind two senior receivers.
On the basketball side of things, Lakeville North has been winning section titles for many years. With pieces like four-star Nate Reuvers, worker Ethan Igbanugo and Schermann, Trevor sees the Panthers as keeping their streak of state tourney appearances continuing.
“For sure,” he said when asked about going back to state and getting a shot at a title. “We got three returning and two coming in to start, including Tyler Wahl, a sophomore who has really impressed me. Super athletic.”
Schermann went on to describe his role for Lakeville North hoops.
“Playing for coach Oxton, my role change a lot from a passer to a scorer to a defensive player. I think I’m pretty well-rounded with my basketball skills, I think I just need to work on my consistency.”
