Continue ReadingTrinity Bell performed very well at the AHSAA Elite 100 event. The 6’7 post from Albertville is one of the most athletic bigs in the state. This kid has a chance to be a very special player, and in front of 60+ coaches he put on a show. July will be a good month to see how he finishes out the grassroots season.
Strengths
Athletic and strong build. Moves very well. Plays to his strengths. Comfortable with his back to the basket. Hard to keep out of the paint. Has super strong hands. Soft touch around the rim. Powers through contact. Aggressive and active on the glass. Plays above the rim. Can defend both post positions. Good help side defender. High IQ.
Weaknesses
Too passive at times. Needs to demand the ball more. Needs to develop more post counters. Needs to show range out to 15ft more. Has room to improve overall ball skill. “Undersized” 4.
Overview
With all the prospects across the country trying to be “positionless”, it is refreshing to see a player like Trinity Bell. Bell knows what his strengths and weaknesses are. This kid has an old school feel to him. He is athletic, strong, and active on the glass. He may be a smaller big at 6’7, but Bell owns the paint.
